Executive director of income
Location: Samaritans, Ewell, Surrey (within zone 6) & London Hub (Waterloo)
Since 1953 the Samaritans, working through its network of 201 branches, have been helping to reduce suicide - the biggest killer of young people and men under 50.
Following the arrival of a new CEO in 2015, the charity has been driving forward its strategy: ‘Working together to reduce suicide.’ Through this, it has been making innovative and transformational changes to grow and develop the range of services they offer to society, including responding to a call for help every six seconds.
Underpinning all of this is the need to raise £25 million a year to run and develop its vital and life changing services. The charity is now seeking a new Executive Director of Income to drive all income generation and create a best in class fundraising culture across all areas of the organisation.
To succeed in this role, you will need to be passionate about the work of the Samaritans and its commitment to reduce suicide in the UK. You will need to be a highly experienced creative and commercial leader with proven change management, business planning and motivational skills. With an outstanding track record of innovative income generation activities under your belt you will be adept at developing and increasing a variety of income streams to maximise return on investment
We believe that this is an excellent opportunity to lead income generation at one of the ‘most trusted’ charities. Mental health and the causes and factors around this issue are finally and thankfully being spoken about. This issue has never been so high on the social and political agenda. Working closely with a highly talented and well regarded CEO and Executive Leadership Team, you will have a personal role in expanding and deepening the charity's valuable work. And joining the Samaritans at this important and historical juncture brings the potential to make a transformational difference. We believe that this opportunity is a career defining role.
