Chester and District Samaritans have been willingly giving their time to help people in Chester, Ellesmere Port, Neston, Wrexham and Deeside for more than 50 years, every day of the year. In 2017 we answered 22,406 phone calls, sent 8675 emails and texts and met people in our branch (parking/rail info here) 59 times. We also support people outside of the branch as often as possible, e.g. see here about our visit to Shotton Rail station. And we're really proud to be part of the hugely respected national charity Samaritans, who drive our campaigns; the latest being 'The Big Listen', (July 2018 and ongoing). We really enjoyed handing out tea bags during the 2nd year of Brew Monday January 18 too!
Could you be a listening volunteer to support people when they most need it? Or help us as a fundraising Friend to raise the £80 a day it costs to keep our branch running (some of this comes from kind donations), contribute to the costs of our freecall number and publicise our community activities? If you would like to organise or support a fundraising event we'd love to hear from you!
And/or meanwhile, do please consider using easyfundraising when shopping online to help run our branch - at no cost at all to you!
