We’re proud to announce that our workplace training has been recognised and awarded CPD accreditation.
For over 70 years, Samaritans has been training listening volunteers to provide vital emotional support to people across the UK & Ireland.
Our Samaritans Training and Engagement Programmes (STEP) draws on the expertise gained from our support services to provide training and learning options to organisations across all sectors. The programme enables staff to have the confidence and skills to support themselves and others in the workplace - whether that’s colleagues, customers, or service users or members of the public.
Accreditation of STEP courses brings additional value to our learning programme. Professionals in many industries and sectors, across a range of roles, are expected to undertake Continuing Professional Development (CPD). Participating in our CPD certified courses enables participants to gain CPD hours, whilst learning real-world transferrable skills, that can be applied at work, and beyond.
Some of our CPD certified courses include:
At Samaritans we design and deliver learning in suicide prevention, emotional health, supporting others and your team, trauma, listening skills and workplace wellbeing. Over the last decade, we have evolved the programme to incorporate more training courses on topics including debriefing and trauma.
The CPD Certification Service assesses the quality of our training; formalising our expertise and ensuring a structured and recognised approach to learning. Individuals and organisations can meet their CPD requirements, assured that our training has been certified, in line with industry standards and benchmarks for best practice.
I’m thrilled that our STEP training content has received CPD accreditation, emphasising its value and effectiveness in enhancing professional development. This accreditation illustrates the high quality of our training, which builds on Samaritans’ core expertise, and now also ensures that participants can gain recognised professional development credits, to help further their skills and career growth.
