Working across the UK and Ireland
Samaritans works across the UK and Ireland, in jurisdictions with different policy, funding and service landscapes. This strategy offers a shared vision, purpose, principles and set of priorities, but the way they are delivered will reflect each national context.
This balance of national focus and shared purpose allows Samaritans to stay responsive and relevant, while acting as one organisation committed to reducing lives lost to suicide across the UK and Ireland.
Across England, Scotland, Wales, Northern Ireland and Ireland, our work will continue to respond to national policy, partnership opportunities and local need. Teams in each nation will create plans aligned with the five strategic priorities, tailored to their context, communities, relationships and opportunities to influence change.
The changes to how we operate are commencing in 2026 in the UK. Samaritans Ireland will undertake a period of reflection and engagement in autumn 2027 to inform how our strategic priorities are delivered in the Republic of Ireland.
