Once you’ve done this and created your profile the best place to start is by undertaking one of our online learning resources. You’ll see the difference you’re making, even with just an hour of your time. You may even learn something new about the world or about yourself, and Samaritans online learning tools count as volunteering for the Million Hour Challenge.

Wellbeing in the Workplace resources

We’re working with employers across the country to create happier, healthier and more productive workplaces.

The Wellbeing in the Workplace resources allow you to learn at your own pace, at your desk or at home. You can learn skills that will help you understand the importance of emotional health and have the confidence to reach out to a colleague, friend or family member who might be struggling to cope. The resources include:

Samaritans Wellbeing toolkit

Feedback from people who have undertaken the wellbeing toolkit

93%

say it has helped them to recognise emotional distress in others

93%

now recognise the importance of looking after their own wellbeing

90%

now feel more confident approaching someone in emotional distress

Support on the railway

The rail industry Support on the Railway learning tool has a range of learning modules on suicide prevention for rail industry employees. We can all play a part in preventing suicide on the rail network. You can complete these as a team or on your own here.

If you have questions about these resources or any element of the Million Hour Challenge then please get in touch via [email protected]
