What's involved

The Twitter Administrator is responsible for overseeing the branch's Twitter account and ensuring it is utilised effectively to engage audiences and further Samaritans' mission.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Drafting original tweets that provide value to followers, that align with Samaritans branding, and adhere to social media guidelines. Tweets should aim to raise awareness, share resources, and convey the branch's compassionate ethos.
  • Responding to followers and mentions in a timely, appropriate manner consistent with Samaritans' voice. Replies should demonstrate empathy and reinforce our confidential, non-judgmental support.
  • Monitoring tweets/mentions for any concerning content from users needing support and directing them to our helpline.
  • Analysing Twitter analytics and activity for insights to guide strategy. Provide reports for leadership on key metrics such as followers, impressions, etc.
  • Overseeing account settings; profile information, images, and display name as needed.
  • Liaising with leadership on potential partnerships, campaigns, or contests that align with messaging.
  • Ensuring all tweets and communications adhere to Samaritans social media policies and brand guidelines.
  • Identifying strategies to increase our twitter following.

Time

The anticipated time commitment is around 10 hours per month.

Location

A combination of remote and branch based working.
