Our North London branch is on the lookout for a Fundraising Co-Ordinator. To support the Branch Fundraising Lead in identifying and securing community sources of income on behalf of the branch.

What's involved

Administrative Support:

● Identify potential community funders of local Samaritans services and costs (e.g. local businesses/organisations).

● Thank and keep in touch with local community funders detailing how money has been spent.

● Support issuing receipts for donations.

● Support the completion of fundraising applications.

● Support the completion of risk assessments for events and ensure appropriate insurance cover is in place.

Events planning with Branch Fundraising Lead:

● Communicate with the BFL on a regular basis regarding fundraising activity.

● Support the organisation of fundraising events (e.g. quiz nights, carol singing etc).

● Come up with diverse and inclusive fundraising opportunities to engage the local community.

● Network with potential funders in order to secure one off and regular income for the local Samaritans branch.

● Submit applications for the above opportunities where relevant.

● Help to manage any fundraising partnerships with local organisations.

● Ensure that activities comply with Samaritans policies and relevant fundraising and event management regulations (e.g. confidentiality, data protection, handling money, ensure collection tins are sealed etc).

Promote fundraising activity:

● Give talks about Samaritans in order to raise awareness of work and possible income.

● Prepare items for inclusion in the branch newsletter to promote events and encourage involvement.

● Draft tweets to be shared on our Branch Twitter to promote events.

● Work with the Branch Publicity Team to promote events.

Location

The role can be conducted remotely with a requirement to attend occasional meetings at the branch office (Bounds Green, N11) and any fundraising events held throughout the year.
