Every life lost to suicide is a tragedy. But suicide is preventable and the more we are equipped to recognise and safely intervene to help someone at risk, the more lives we can save.
Making a suicide intervention
The course is aimed at delegates whose job/volunteer role could bring them into contact with a suicidal person, providing them with the knowledge and skills to provide support to an individual. The course equips participants to intervene and engage a person at risk of suicide so that they are kept as safe as possible until specialist help or emergency services arrive. If you or someone you know requires emotional support, please call Samaritans’ free helpline 116 123. This course is CPD certified
Course duration: one-day; 9.30am-4.30pm, delivered via Zoom.

I would advise anyone that if given the chance to attend one of these courses then grasp it with both hands. One of the best training sessions that I have attended in my 36 years of railway employment.
