We Are Recruiting
We are looking to anyone who wishes to meet us, when you could join us for an Introductory Talk and find out more about who we are and what we do. For those who, after the initial talk, would like to continue there is an afternoon of discussion and listening role play to determine whether being a Samaritan is right for you.
We are also recruiting support volunteers to help with tasks such as Administration,Fundraising and Maintenance of our Property.
What happens next?
We run our Recruitment sessions twice a year and the Samaritans training programme is the same throughout the UK and ROI. This not only allows Volunteers to move between branches but, most importantly, ensures that all callers receive the same level of support.
Once you have attended our information and selection day we may ask you back for an interview, with this process complete we move onto training.
The training takes places over one Sunday and eight weekday evenings spread over eight weeks. This fully equips all Listening Volunteers to support our callers whether over the phone, by email, text or in our branch.
