You can help Samaritans at no cost to yourself by choosing us as your local cause.
The money raised will be used to train new volunteers. Samaritans all undergo intensive training before they answer calls. The branch has seen an increased interest in volunteering during the pandemic of people wanting to be listeners. They have recently opened an additional phone line so they need volunteers to fill the shifts.
You can help Samaritans at no cost to yourself by choosing their charity. It can even save you money.
The Co-op recently doubled the amount that goes to community organisations. When you buy Co-op branded products and services, 2p for every pound spent goes to you and 2p goes to local causes. There are also weekly discounts for members.
If you are a Co-op member, go to https://membership.coop.co.uk/causes to choose Stockport Samaritans.
If you are not a member there is a one-off charge of £1 to join.
Co-op stores are local, open long hours and friendly. Support your local shop and a worthwhile charity too.
