Walk Begins: 7am so we can enjoy the sunrise together
Distance: 5km
The route will take participants on a gentle walk around Whitlingham Broad, providing an opportunity to reflect, connect with others and support a cause that touches so many lives.

Norwich Samaritans is a self-fundraising branch, which means the money raised through events like this goes directly towards keeping our local branch running and ensuring we can continue to be there for people who need us.
Our branch is supported by more than 250 volunteers, who respond to over 30,000 contacts every year from people who need someone to listen.
It is estimated that it costs around £5 to answer a potentially life-saving call, meaning every donation, no matter how small, can make a real difference.

I can't make the event on 11 October. Can I walk on another day?
Our organised group walk is taking place on Sunday 11 October, when we'll come together to welcome the sunrise as a community. If you can't make the event, you're very welcome to complete your own 5km walk on another day that suits you. As long as you select Norwich Branch as your chosen branch when setting up your fundraising page, any funds you raise will come directly to support our local branch.
Is the route accessible?
The majority of the route follows a flat, tar-and-chip accessible path suitable for wheelchairs, mobility scooters, pushchairs and bicycles.
To extend the distance, parts of the walk may leave this main path. However, participants who require a fully accessible route are welcome to remain on the main path and complete a slightly shorter distance.
