Luton and Bedfordshire Community Foundation funds training of Listening Volunteers
Luton is a self-governing and entirely self-funded branch Samaritans. We need to raise £40,000 each year to run the branch, which is run entirely by volunteers. Our amazing 160+ volunteers are there 24/7 to offer support to people in distress and they took 19200 calls last year.
We are very grateful for the donation from Luton and Bedfordshire Community Fund which covered the costs of training 40 new volunteers last year. This will ensure that we can continue to provide what can be a life saving service in the local community.
