How we can help
We provide a listening service from our branch 24 hours every day of the year.
We visit schools and colleges and give talks by invitation
Unfortunately the branch is closed for the time being.
We train and support Listeners in both Leicester and Gartree prisons.
- Facilities for visitors with disabilities: Two steps to negotiate. Ground floor room and WC. WC not accessible to a wheelchair.
Leicester Samaritans was founded in 1964 and we have been listening for 24 hours 7 days a week since then, a record of which we are very proud. We take over 44,000 contacts a year at our branch.
Welcome to Leicester Samaritans
From our branch in Leicester we provide confidential, emotional support to those in need of a safe space to talk over problems, feelings, stress or anything that maybe worrying them, especially those in extreme despair.
Our 130 trained volunteers respond to over 44,000 contacts for support by phone, email and face to face visits in our branch.

We have partnerships with a number of local organisations, including HM Prison Leicester and HM Prison Gartree.
If you would like to know more about joining us as a volunteer please contact us.
We also provide talks for community groups, schools and other organisations interested in our work.
