What a fantastic Achievement. Well done Everyone
The sun burned bright early on Saturday morning as our team of intrepid volunteers gathered at Langar Airfield near Nottingham. Conditions were perfect - clear skies, warm sun and a gentle breeze.
After a terrifyingly brief training session our team were up into the wild blue yonder. They weren't allowed to all go in the same plane, which allowed everyone the chance to see the others' jumps.
Everyone got down safely and in most cases rather elegantly. Afterwards it was great to see all the excited faces of the volunteers and all the proud expressions of their supporters.
So well done to volunteers Pam, Helena, Nettie, Claire, George, Alex, Charlotte, Ben and Sara. An especial well done to Michelle who worked so hard to make this fantastic event happen. Thanks also to those who came along as supporters and added so much to the occasion.
The last time I looked we had raised well over £3,500 for the branch and money is still trickling in. I expect Tatty's fund-raising to finally come to an end some time in 2028!!!! This will keep us in tea, coffee and biscuits for a few months! Thanks to all our sponsors for helping us do our vital work. Anyone who hasn't done so and would like to can still sponsor them here: Leek and District Samaritans - JustGiving .
