On 22nd June, Leek Branch of Samaritans held our 2026 Annual General Meeting, in the lovely cool surroundings of Leek Building Society Conference Centre. Tim, our Branch Director, welcomed attendees and presented highlights from our previous year. He also enthusiastically encouraged attendance at the 60th Anniversary celebration events, planned for the remainder of this year.
We learned more about the background activities that help to keep the branch running so smoothly, with brief reports about Finance, Training and Recruitment, Outreach and publicity, Safeguarding, Volunteer and Caller support.
Tim warmly thanked everyone for their support and hard work and in particular thanked those who work behind the scenes, in hidden roles, and those who take on several interlinking roles to ensure that the branch remains a vibrant and forward looking place to volunteer.
The meeting concluded with a chance to catch up socially and to enjoy a light supper and a bit of laughter and fun together.
