We’re delighted to be attending the Open Garden at Limekiln Farm, near Hailsham, on Saturday 29 and Sunday 30 August 2026.
Visitors can explore this peaceful and historic garden, originally designed in the 1930s and still retaining much of its original layout. Highlights include a large rose garden, colourful herbaceous borders, a prairie-style garden, informal pond and a fascinating physic garden.
The garden will be open from 2pm until 5pm on both days, with a talk about medicinal plants taking place in the physic garden at 3pm each afternoon. Homemade teas and refreshments will be available in the Oast House, with the refreshments raising funds for Eastbourne & District Samaritans.
Members of our branch will be there throughout the event, so please come over and say hello. You’ll be able to find out more about the work of Samaritans, how local volunteers support the service and the different ways people can get involved with or support our Eastbourne branch.

Tickets can be booked in advance through the National Garden Scheme, or visitors can arrive and pay on the day. The garden has mostly flat access, although there are two steps leading to the main lawn and herbaceous borders. Disabled parking is available close to the house, and dogs are welcome on fixed short leads.
Come along for a gentle afternoon among the flowers, enjoy some homemade refreshments and help support the work of Samaritans in our local community.
