Durham Samaritans were present in Durham marketplace on 3 October
This was to make passers by aware of Samaritans and to give them an opportunity to speak to a volunteer. Even a few words can lead to a longer phone talk later with another listener in a quieter environment. Samaritans were joined by Ellie, the Regional Development Lead for the LNER Mainline and Network Rail Partnership, by Adrian from Mankind Mens' Charity, Francis, the Railway Chaplain and Samantha from the County Coroners Office. We were pleased also to great Mary Kelly Foy, MP for City of Durham.
