PMC Telecom had previously donated some high-spec headsets to the Central London Samaritans, which were enthusiastically received and are now in regular use. Recently, we’d found that for some volunteers with hearing difficulties, the volume on our phones also needed to be improved. PMC telecom had the solution again, and very kindly donated 6 amplifiers that plug into the handset or headset and have variable volume control.
This has greatly improved the volunteer experience and feedback has been really positive. In some cases, it has made the difference between being able to volunteer or not, so it’s a brilliant outcome.
