Season Two kicks off
5th September was another big day for the Brighton & Hove Albion project. BHAFC launched their season 2 'Together against Suicide' campaign, building on our film 'Kick off the conversation' from last year. During half-time, Dean 1299 was interviewed pitch-side and one of our six new social media shorts, 'Be a hero - kick off the conversation', was shown. BHAFC will be using all six short films in their media campaign to encourage people to open a conversation with anyone they think may be struggling.
There were 7 volunteers at the Amex for the match against Leeds offering emotional support and raising awareness of the Samaritans amongst the crowd. We had a number of emotional support conversations as well as our matchday offering being acknowledged, by the founder of a recently formed men's charity, as their inspiration!
We're also working with charity Men Walking and Talking to hold a matchday mental health walk to the Amex for the match against Arsenal on 19 September.
We'll again be offering free listening workshops to support the message that listening can change a life. The refreshed workshops start on 22 October. BHAFC are still keen to see us training 1910 people so we'll be building on last season's 710 participants.
