We know that life can sometimes be incredibly tough. Thanks to the dedication of more than 20,000 volunteers, Samaritans can be there for anyone, whatever they are going through and whenever they are struggling to cope. We’re also at the heart of local communities, working with schools, workplaces, railways, prisons and hospitals to offer training and support, preventing suicide and helping people turn their lives around.

Our life-saving work wouldn’t be possible without the extraordinary generosity of our event participants.

Why a virtual challenge?

As restrictions stay in place, this is the perfect chance to get out and about exercising as well as raising funds for a great cause. You can complete your chosen challenge on a day and time that works for you.

What's sort of challenge can you do?

There is a mixture of challenges to get involved in, each rewarding you with a different medal to add to your collection. Here are some examples.

Inca Trail – A virtual challenge to tick off the bucket list. A 25-mile run walk or jog to be completed in as many efforts as the challenger can manage.

Team Gotham – Not all Superhero’s wear capes.... some have to fight crime in isolation too! This is a 5k challenge, so perfect for families who want to complete it together, or anyone looking to stay fit during lockdown.

The Big Charity Run – The ultimate challenge; challenges pick a 30, 60, 90- or 120-mile distance to complete over a single month. They can run, walk or cycle so perfect for setting an ambitious target and staying motivated!

Location Specific Races – Many will want to take on a challenge that is as close to a road race as physically possible, so there are a number of location specific races included so people can take part in a race on a specific date.
