Bournemouth Branch is looking for a volunteer Branch Secretary.

An opportunity to be part of a supportive community and a rewarding insight into the running of Bournemouth Branch of Samaritans. 

This role will suit someone who is organised, methodical and tenacious to ensure the Branch Leadership Team (BLT) and the Branch meets its operational commitments as defined by our Central Office.  BLT meetings are held every 6 weeks, the secretary will give the team notice, collect reports and prepare an Agenda. The secretary will minute the meeting and distribute to the team. IT skills are essential.

Apart from BLT meetings, the secretary will organise twice yearly Branch meetings, the statutory Annual Branch Meeting and keep the volunteer membership list up to date.

A very good standard of spoken and written English. An ability to capture the essential points raised and minute. 

A DBS check and interview will be required for this role, together with providing 2 references.  Evening meetings are held either upstairs in our training room (no lift available) or via Video conference call.

Full training, mentoring and support is given for this position.
