Join us in raising awareness and vital funds so we can continue to offer emotional support every day of the year for anyone who needs it.
The third Monday in January is sometimes referred to as ‘the most difficult day of the year’ but this is a myth – we all have our good days and our bad days, and those aren’t for the calendar to decide.
Help us bust the ‘Blue Monday’ myth by encouraging colleagues, friends and family to stay connected over a cuppa and a catch-up.
You can host your own Brew Monday event online or in-person, or even do something as simple as picking up the phone and checking in on someone you care about.
My best advice for supporting someone else is to take the time to talk. Trust your gut, if a friend is acting a little different, they may say they are fine but inwardly be dealing with more than they are letting on. Even if they don’t want to share, just talking and making the time can be a massive, massive help.

This toolkit is your one-stop shop for supporting Samaritans Brew Monday campaign, taking place on 19 January 2026.
Hosting a Brew Monday event is simple. It doesn’t matter if it’s over a lunch break or after a meeting, if you’re sharing a cuppa and listening, you’re doing it right.
Arrange your event on or around the 19 January. Don’t be shy, let people know about your event. Everyone likes to be invited to something nice. Send a calendar invite and promote the event in your workplace throughout January.
Make your Brew Monday special with your favourite cuppa and maybe a slice of cake, then donate the cost of a coffee, or whatever you're able to give, it all goes a long way to help keep Samaritans listening. Just £10 could help us answer a lifesaving call.
Can’t make the 19 January? No problem, you can host a Brew Monday get together anytime. It’s the taking part that counts. By taking part and raising money, you’ll help make sure there’s always someone there for anyone who’s going through a difficult time.
