Greg England, Head of Communications at United Welsh, said: “We are delighted to have raised so much money for a charity which does such valuable work. Our people voted overwhelmingly to support Samaritans as a corporate charity of United Welsh and we know it meant a great deal to everyone.

“We are glad we could help to make a difference to Samaritans and look forward to continuing our close work with them in the future.”

Sarah Stone, Samaritans Executive Director for Wales, added: “We couldn’t carry out the vital work we do in Wales without the support of the local community.

We are very grateful to all United Welsh staff for the work carried out  to raise funds for Samaritans in Wales.  Your support and goodwill is extremely important to us and we hugely appreciate the financial support you have given us.”

Samaritans has nine branches in Wales, run by volunteers. Samaritans provides a safe place for people to talk, round the clock, every single day of the year. Samaritans volunteers are ordinary people who do something extraordinary for people struggling to cope. People can get in touch by phone, email, text, letter or by visiting a branch.
