Samaritans CEO Julie Bentley has responded to today's Budget
Responding to today’s Budget, Julie Bentley, CEO of Samaritans, said: “Samaritans welcomes the Government’s announcement of more funding for the voluntary sector, recognising the important role it plays in helping to prevent suicide. However suicide rates haven’t changed in 20 years and what we desperately need to save more lives is to build on this announcement with an ambitious and well-funded national suicide prevention strategy.”
