Samaritans Appoints New Executive Director For Scotland
Samaritans has appointed a new Executive Director for Scotland, James Jopling. James has worked in the voluntary sector for more than 20 years.
With a background in fundraising and policy, the charities James has worked for include Oxfam, Shelter Scotland and Maggie’s Cancer Centres. His previous post was Director for Scotland at Breast Cancer Now.
James said: “The vital support Samaritans provides for people struggling to cope is second to none. I am delighted to be joining the charity at such an exciting time, with the recent launch of its ambitious six-year strategy - and ahead of the Scottish Parliamentary elections next year.
Fiona Malcolm, Samaritans Deputy CEO, said: “James has a wealth of experience in the voluntary sector in Scotland, and coupled with his excellent connections and dynamic approach, he is an exciting addition to the team. James will help us make a real difference to those who need our services.”
