Last chance to enter the Brighton Marathon – get running for Samaritans

Team Samaritans still has a few remaining places available for this year’s Brighton Marathon, which will be held on Sunday 12 April.

If you made a New Year's resolution to get fit or to do something for charity in 2015, then this is your chance to make a difference! Samaritans will support you every step of your journey, providing you with a fundraising pack and a personalised running vest for the day.

Bay Rees, Events Fundraiser, said: “It would be great to make 2015 the biggest year yet for Team Samaritans. If you’re still looking for a charity to run for then we would love to hear from you. It’s a great opportunity to get your friends and family involved, or take part on your own and raise vital funds for a great cause.”

Thousands of runners from all over the country will be taking part in the UK’s second biggest marathon. Runners will be lining up at Preston Park at 9:15am and racing past some of Brighton’s most historic attractions. The money raised will help Samaritans offer confidential emotional support, round the clock, for people who are struggling to cope. The charity is dedicated to helping people through their problems and to better understand their situation and the options open to them.

Runners will be spurred on by the several Samaritans’ cheering points along the route - helping participants reach the finish line. The charity will finish the day off with a special post-race event, where runners can enjoy a shower and much-needed massage, and a drink with friends and family.

The deadline for applications is 2 March so please make sure you get your entries in soon and avoid missing out.
