How we can help

Prisons outreach

We run the listener scheme at HMP Hewell. We train and support prisoners at Hewell who then act as listeners to other prisoners.

Face to face

You can visit us in branch if you need to talk to a Samaritan. Just press the buzzer. Often Samaritans will be supporting callers on the phone so if you would like to see one of us face to face then please email us at [email protected] and we can arrange a time to see you. Please do note though that if you do email us then of course we will have contact information for you and this may not be desirable for you so if you wish to remain entirely anonymous then just call in.

Volunteer with our branch and our approach to recruitment

We are a friendly community here at Worcester and we'd love you to join us a volunteer. Our Samaritans come from all walks of life and backgrounds. You can become a listening volunteer or you can help us with outreach, fundraising or running our branch.

To become a listening volunteer, you should apply via Samaritans.org.uk. For other roles, you can contact us directly via [email protected]

We run three recruitment drives each year to coincide with our three training programmes. When you apply via Samaritans.org.uk, we will do our best to contact you promptly and let you know when our next round of interviews will be held. We release our interview slots in batches and you will be invited to sign up for one. We do this on a first come first served basis and we interview at various times to accommodate everyone.

Please do bear with our recruitment process. It can take a little while to interview everyone who wants to volunteer with us and our selection team are also all listening Samaritans volunteers - but since we run three training programmes a year, we should be able to offer interviews to everyone in due course.
