To mark World Mental Health Day, this October, join us by taking part in Dawn Walk, our sponsored 5K walk at dawn.
On Sunday 11th October at 6am, we’ll be meeting at The Grand Pier, Weston-super-Mare to walk in solidarity with those struggling to cope and to raise vital funds for Weston-super-Mare & North Somerset Samaritans. All funds raised will help our volunteers continue to be there for anyone struggling to cope with life's challenges.
Registrations are open. Join us to watch the sunrise over Weston Bay. We would also welcome anyone that would rather not register for raising donations - If you would just like to walk with us in memory of someone or to simply be part of our mission that less people die by suicide, please email: [email protected] You will be most welcome. After watching the sunrise at St.Nicholas Church in Uphill, we will then enjoy a breakfast at The Boat House Cafe.
Gary Delafield, Branch Director at Weston-super-Mare & North Somerset said:
"As we walk together from darkness into the first light of dawn, we are reminded that even in life’s darkest moments, hope can begin with a single step and someone willing to walk beside us. That journey lies at the heart of this event and reflects the difference it can make when a person is heard with compassion and without judgement.
Every pound raised makes a real difference. It helps us to ensure our listening volunteers can be there for anyone who feels they have nowhere else to turn during their darkest moments.”
