As we celebrated National Volunteers week, Tony 39 celebrated his own milestone of being a Samaritans volunteer for 50 years with us, having previously volunteered for 3 years with Birmingham branch.
Branch director Gill spoke for all the volunteers 'It's a huge achievement, quite incredible when you think of 50 years being a more than a lifetime for some volunteers, that Tony has shown such respect and support to Walsall branch. For such a quiet and humble man, he has given so much week in, week out, totally reliable for so many years keeping the branch going. We are hugely grateful for his long-serving commitment to the branch and Samaritans' organisation as a whole. At such an exciting time for Walsall, with a new building move imminent, it is a pleasure to share this journey with Tony and we sincerely hope he will be part of the branch for many, many more years to come.'
