The branch is located on Dean Street in Kilkenny city. We have over 100 volunteers who provide emotional support to our callers via telephone, email, SMS, Face to Face calls. Our charity shop in Kieran Street is run by a team of volunteers and provides a very welcome source of funds for the branch.  We also have a super team of support volunteers who provide administrative, fund raising and branch committee support for the branch. All working together to achieve our shared vision that fewer people die by suicide.


If you wish to visit the branch, there is ample of parking near by.  There are two Pay & Display car parks opposite the center on Dean Street as well as some Pay & Display on street parking. Our opening hours to callers are noted above.

    We have teamed up with KCLR in a great partnership to launch Samaritans Day on December 11th 2018
  • Annual Bangers & Mash Fund Raising event

    Our Annual Bangers & Mash Fundraising event is on Thursday 8th November in the Pembroke Hotel, Patrick Street from 12:30 - 14:30 €10 goes to our local Samaritans Kilkenny & Carlow branch

  • Samaritans launch .ie eMail address

    7th March 2018
    Samaritans Ireland has today (March 7th 2018) launched a new dedicated email address to reach even more people in need of emotional support across Ireland. Young people in particular are expected to reach out to volunteers through jo@samaritans.ie, which is the latest initiative from the charity to support all those suffering alone.
