Harrogate Samaritans

Our door is always open for you

Welcome to the Harrogate branch of Samaritans. We have been here for the people of Harrogate and surrounding districts for more than 40 years and are privileged to be part of such a wonderful community. Based on Mount Parade in the town centre, our door is always open to callers who want to talk openly but confidentially about their worries and emotions.

Volunteering at Harrogate

We hold Open Information Evenings at 7.30 pm on the last Wednesday of every month (except December) to give people an idea of what volunteering is all about. No appointment is needed and a very warm welcome awaits.  Why not come along to meet existing volunteers, learn about the Charity, ask questions and decide if volunteering at Harrogate Samaritans is right for you. Call us on: 03705 627282.

Samaritans of Harrogate and District news

  • Bilton Gala 1st May 2017

    4th May 2017
Once again we attended Bilton Gala and had a great day speaking to many members of the public throughout the day. Plenty of fun was to be had this year as we had our very own talking phone joining us!
  • The Nidderdale Show

    19th September 2016
The sun managed to shine for the volunteers manning the stall at the Nidderdale Show on Monday 19th September. The show held at Pateley Bridge is one of the county's foremost agricultural shows. Apart from raising £78 in donations the volunteers spoke to people interested in volunteering and also helped raised awareness to possible callers in the area.
  • The Great North Run 2016

    10th September 2016
The branch would like to say congratulations to Kate and Laura Thompson, for not only completing the 13 miles of this prestigious event, but for running on our behalf. The girls raised a magnificent £650. Many thanks to both of you.
  • Flag Day 25th June

    25th June 2016
Thankfully the sun shone and we had a great turn out of volunteers past and present with a few friends and family helping out along the way. We raised a magnificent £1050. Thank you to everyone involved.
