About Blackpool, Fylde and Wyre Branch
Our branch has been providing support to people in our local area for over 40 years with over 70 volunteers aged between 18 to 80 plus.
Some volunteers at Blackpool have served with the Samaritans for 30 years or more and are an inspiration to the younger or newest arrivals at the Blackpool Samaritans.
We offer emotional support in person, by telephone, by email and by text and on average our branch each year helps over 37,000 people going through a tough time.
Our work in Blackpool Fylde and Wyre Branch
A really important part of Samaritans' work is to reach out to people in the community and work with other organisations to raise awareness of what we do and offer support to as many people as we can.
We have an outreach team who work with the local community, such as with schools and colleges, and we love giving talks to anyone who invites us.
Volunteering in our branch.
Everyone in our branch is a volunteer, from Angie, our Director, to our part-time fundraisers; there are now around 98 volunteers. Although Samaritans is best known for its listening volunteers who answer the telephones, there are so many other ways in which you can help us. We have roles in administration, fundraising, IT support, building maintenance and helping out in our shop.
Raising funds for our branch can be fun!
There are so many ways in which you can raise money for our branch.
Each year our branch receives over 37,000 calls for support. We need your support to help us to make sure we can be there for anyone who needs us.
No donation is too small to make a big contribution and a big difference.
