There are lots of ways you can volunteer for Peterborough Samaritans. You could become a listening volunteer, helping us to answer calls and messages from people who need some support.
Our branch is also looking for support with marketing, fundraising, and IT support. It all depends on what you're good at and what you've got time for.
Anyone can be a Samaritans volunteer: you don't need to have been through a particular life experience or be from a certain walk of life. Anyone who's over 18, wants to help others, and is tolerant and open-minded is welcome.
If you would like to join us as a listening volunteer in Peterborough, come along to one of our information sessions to find out more.
Information sessions for new volunteers will be held throughout 2025. Please do come along if you are interested in becoming a Samaritan.
All sessions last between 1 and 2 hours. The information session aims to give you an idea of what exactly Samaritans do, how we are trained, the type of calls you will have to deal with and how to help people in distress who need someone to talk to at difficult times in their life.
Thursday evening session starts at 7pm:
Thursday 26 March 2026
Thursday 28 May 2026
Thursday 30 July 2026
Thursday 29 October 2026
Sunday sessions start at 10 am:

Sunday 26 April 2026
