On Saturday 29 August, Manchester Pride was held, with 94 volunteers and guests from 11 Samaritans branches across the North West taking part.
Volunteers from Pendle travelled to Manchester before meeting up with colleagues from other branches and making their way to the parade assembly area. Samaritans were number 78 in the parade.
The parade made its way through the streets of Manchester, including Deansgate, Peter Street, Oxford Street, Portland Street, Princess Street and Whitworth Street. Along the route, crowds lined the streets, waving colourful flags, clapping, cheering and showing their support.
It was a wonderful opportunity for Samaritans volunteers from across the region to come together and celebrate Pride, while raising awareness of our work and reminding people that we're here to listen, whenever you need us.
