Greetings from Norwich Samaritans!
Here at Norwich Samaritans we've been supporting Norwich and the wider community through our listening service for over 50 years.
Staffed by 160 volunteers, we provide emotional support to those in distress by offering a free, safe space for callers to talk to us - any time they like, in their own way, about whatever is getting to them.
We also support people in prisons at HMP Norwich and HMP Bure. And our outreach teams give regular talks in schools and deliver training at many local organisations, including: student support groups at universities, nurses-in-training, and the coastguard.
In 2017 our branch:
- received over 36,500 calls for help
- responded to over 2,350 emails
- answered more than 5,800 text messages
- met with 599 face to face visitors
