About Lincoln Samaritans
We are proud to say that there has been a Samaritans branch operating in Lincoln for over 50 years now.
Today, we have about 50 volunteers providing listening services to anyone in distress or despair who contacts us for support.
Our services are not just for people who are suicidal, and these days we provide support through email or text as well as by telephone if our callers prefer.
We also work with prisoners at HMP Lincoln supporting inmates there to operate a Listener Scheme.
If you have ideas on how else we might work with the local community or would like us to attend a conference or event to give a talk, get in touch.
Volunteering at Lincoln Samaritans
There are lots of opportunities to get involved with Lincoln Samaritans! We have Listening Volunteer roles and Non Listening Volunteer opportunities. We hold regular information sessions where you can find out more about the work we do and how we do it, what’s involved, and to discuss the time commitment. These sessions are informal and an opportunity for you to meet some volunteers and ask questions to find out if this could be for you. Interested? Fill out an application form today.
