Walkers from across the country descended on Hitchin for the National Samaritans Walk, which also marked the 70th anniversary year of Samaritans.
The event was massively supported by the local community, including Offley Endowed Primary School who created colourful posters to spur walkers on and Hitchin First Explorers who marked the 13-mile route with orange ribbon.
Support also came from: Artist Sarah Graham, GTR, Pirton Village Hall, Priory School, Sainsbury’s, Satchells, Offley’s St Mary Magdalene Church, St Paul’s Cathedral, Tesco, TPS Visual Communications and Waitrose.
