This year, our branch was one of three charities chosen by Striders Running Club Stevenage to benefit from their annual Menzies 10k run, who raised an amazing £3,000 for our branch.
The event took place on Sunday 30th August 2026 at Fairlands Valley Park, Stevenage. Despite the heavy rains the night before, the 5k and 10k races took place in bright sunshine, and was wonderfully supported by a large crowd of supporters and well-wishers.
Samaritans North Herts & Stevenage were there in force to cheers the runners on and were proud to even give out some of the medals.
It was a huge honour for us to be a chosen charity and the amazing £3,000 raised will make a huge difference to us and to the work we do at our Hitchin branch. We were delighted to attend a cheque presentation ceremony and meet some of the organisers, runners and sponsors of this special event.
