This time of year has quite a few events that we are always involved in. We had our Carol Service at St Peter's Church, at the beginning of the month and were joined by members of the congregation and the wider community.
Waterstones in Gloucester welcomed us for three days just before Christmas. This is so generous as it is their busiest time of the year. We offer a present-wrapping service and it is a good way of reminding people that the Samaritans helpline is available every single day of the year.
We put a Christmas Tree in St. Lawrence's Church in Stroud. They have a Christmas Tree Festival every year and we include discreetly placed cards with our helpline number, in case of need.
In the branch, it is business as usual. Volunteers make time in their busy lives to man the helpline right the way through the festive period.
