We run information evenings about what it's like to volunteer with us several times a year
As well as looking for volunteers to provide emotional support, we also need volunteers who can help with fundraising, publicity, IT support, administrative tasks and general building maintenance.
Our Information Evenings usually take place at the branch, on a weekday evening between 1900 and 2100.
Volunteers from Durham Branch will talk about our work as Samaritans and about what it's like to volunteer. We try and run three sessions a year and our next Information Evening will be in early 2026.
Our information evenings are followed by a Recruitment and Selection day which will also take place in the branch. This event provides you with the chance to explore volunteering in more depth. It takes place in an informal group setting and you'll have the opportunity to ask questions and to talk about why you are interesting in volunteering with us.
