On Saturday 8th June, Doncaster volunteers spent the day tidying and updating our branch garden to provide a nice space for Volunteers to relax and enjoy!
What a great day turning our unused back yard into an inviting and open space for our Volunteers to relax before and after shifts, or when you just need a break.
The day started out grey and overcast, with a lot of jet washing to removing years of dirt and grime. Thankfully the sun came out as more of the team arrived to arrange the newly donated furniture and pot up all the lovely plants.
Of course there was plenty of good chats, laughs, a good few cups of tea and more cake than we knew what to do with!
I can't wait to have a coffee in the sun between shifts, this will be a great place to unwind after a shift
Doncaster Samaritans Volunteer
What started out as an uninspiring space has been transformed, thanks to generous donations from our community and local businesses and of course the hard work of Doncaster's dedicated Volunteers.
We think it looks great and now we must remember to water all the lovely plants when (if!) the sun comes out!
We are so lucky to have such dedicated volunteers, and we owe huge thanks to the Doncaster community for their support in our garden transformation!
