He's the fastest plodder in the North West
Our intrepid Runner Brian 651 just couldn’t resist it again. Age (77 this year) has not brought wisdom and he ran the Essar Chester Half Marathon to once more raise funds to help pay for the running of our branch and our many Outreach activities. What a star!
Previously he'd been a Viking, a tortoise, even a Santa -
but this time it was just as himself plodding round the course. He had no complaints about the weather – it was a bit warm early on but there was a lovely cooling breeze heading back into Chester. Though he did say ‘I wish they wouldn’t describe it as ‘flat’ because that hill from the Greyhound Park roundabout to the Town Hall in the last mile is a bit of a crippler!’
Nevertheless he finished 4169th out of around 5000 runners with an incredibly impressive time of 2 hours 49 minutes.
It would be brilliant if you'd like to reward him for this magnificent effort with a donation via our Virgin Money Giving page!
