A team of volunteers from the Friends of Cheltenham Samaritans have returned from a fantastic week at Glastonbury, where they were working and raising money to support our branch.
The Friends of Cheltenham Samaritans have been going to Glastonbury Festival for more than 20 years. This year, they took 35 volunteers to the festival. One team was working 24 hours a day in the Event Control Centre, running the campsite steward control desk, answering calls and directing support to the campsites. The other team was working in the busy Interstage area.
In return for the team's work—as well as enjoying the festival while not on shift—the Friends receive a donation from Glastonbury which goes straight towards supporting the running of the Cheltenham and District Samaritans branch.
