Cheltenham and District Samaritans branch recently donated two outdoor tables to Open Door, providing a new seating area for their guests.
Cheltenham Open Door supports vulnerable, disadvantaged and lonely people. They aim to relieve poverty, hardship and social or emotional distress.
We are pleased to work in partnership with Open Door as part of our work to support our local community. Our volunteers also regularly visit their guest hub to offer emotional support to Open Door's guests.
When funds are available, we look for ways to remind people of who we are and what we do. A plaque will be added to these seats as a reminder that we're here for anyone who needs us.
The tables have been placed in a peaceful corner of the outdoor space at Open Door—perfect for guests who need a quiet moment to reflect or just take a breather. As chef Marc from Open Door also commented: "It's a perfect place for them - away from the hubbub of the inside. Circular tables are so much more inclusive and create diverse conversation."
