The Buxton & High Peak Samaritans Branch founded in 1975.
Our volunteers come from Buxton, Glossop and the surrounding High Peak area. Our approximately 50 volunteers provide an incredibly valuable service, each month dealing with an average 850 calls over in excess of 200 hours and responds to an average of 150 emails and SMS.
We are passionate about the support we give to our community, we recently took part in Brew Monday at Glossop train station and we are always looking at new ways to support people outside of the branch.

- Each year, every Samaritans Branch is expected to raise their own funds to support their local service. The Buxton volunteers are grateful for the very important fundraising activities that help them continue to provide the excellent service they give. We have 2 up coming events:

What an amazing May Buxton branch has had. We had a very successful May Day stall at the beginning of the month and then on Saturday 25th May one of our volunteers Rob and his girlfriend Martha took part in an 62 mile ultramarathon and they have so far raised £2,059 for our branch- what an amazing acheivement we couldn't be prouder of them.

We also have a great start to June with our branch stroll on Saturday 1st June, which is a lovely way for our volunteers to enjoy a relaxed walk and get to catch up with other volunteers in the branch.
