You support us, let us support you
Let’s Kick Off the Conversation: Brighton & Hove Albion | Together Against Suicide With Samaritans & Premier League
Brighton, Hove & District Samaritans are proud to be working in partnership with Brighton & Hove Albion. We’ll be there to listen on match days, and running an ambitious project to train 1901 fans to listen like a Samaritan.
Want to talk to us? We’ll be there
If you want to talk to us in confidence we’ll be at all matches at the Amex, including beambacks, at The Medical Centre, next to east reception
Matches at the Broadfield Stadium – come and see us at the ticket portakabin
We’ll be there to talk before, during and after matches.
What to expect
We’re here to listen. When you visit us, you’ll be welcomed by a friendly Samaritan, who will take the time to talk to and listen to you about what’s on your mind. The chat can be as long or as short as you like – whatever you need, and whatever makes you comfortable.
You don’t have to make an appointment or let us know in advance – just drop in on the day.
If you’d rather call us, you can do that anytime, any day. We’ll be there to talk on our freephone number 116 123.
Learn to listen like a Samaritan with Brighton & Hove Albion
We’re also delivering an extensive training programme for fans, where we will be introducing Samaritan listening skills. This is a truly ambitious project that we’re excited and proud to take on. We’ll be training 1901 fans in listening skills, with a mix of face to face workshops and online webinars, to teach them how to learn to listen.
If you’d like to be one of our 1901, we’d love to have you! You can book a place on one of the workshops planned before the end of the year here.
We are Brighton, Hove and District Samaritans
Our vision is that fewer people die by suicide.
Working from our branch in Hove, we’re 200 dedicated volunteers who support individuals and organisations, both on the phone and in the community.
Every hour of every day and night we are there for anyone who is struggling.
You don’t have to wait for a match day – you can speak to us anytime, 24/7. You can call us on 116 123 or email us [email protected].
If you’re considering volunteering, we’d love to speak to you. Find out more about what to expect as a Brighton, Hove & District Samaritans volunteer.
If you’d like to support us financially by making a donation, thank you! We raise all of our funds ourselves to stay open 24/7 and serve our community. It costs £165 a day and we welcome one off and regular donations from local people and organisations.
