We had a very special speaker at the Brighton Hove and District AGM this year in the form of Matt Machan, ex-Sussex County and International cricketer.
Matt delivered a heart-felt and inspirational speech about his time as a cricketer and the struggles he faced with his physical and mental health when professional cricketing was taken from his life. Matt stayed for the whole evening, handing out Long Service certificates and chatting to the many cricket fans in the branch.
This is a picture of Matt with Brighton, Hove and District volunteer Maya 622 who has racked up a whopping score of 45 (annual) runs at the branch. What an amazing achievement Maya and many thanks to Matt for giving up his time and for being a valuable part of our AGM.
