New Book's Boost For Samaritans
Former BBC Radio Sussex broadcaster, John Henty, has written a new book recalling his experience of the first twenty years of local radio in Brighton 1968 – 1988. All proceeds from the self-financed free publication will go towards Brighton, Hove and District Samaritans.
The 30 page book was launched in the Pavilion Gardens Café. A CD of John’s final “Early Bird Show” was also available. TV’s Des Lynam suggested the book idea to John and provided the amusing foreword.
John generously gave the book away for free and asked his friends and former colleagues who attended to donate to the branch. Over £500 was raised! Thank you John.
