Come and join volunteers from the Basingstoke branch on Saturday 10 October for the Samaritans Dawn Walk, where we will welcome the sunrise together whilst walking 5km to help save lives.
We’re taking part in Dawn Walk this October and walking 5K at sunrise so that no one has to face their darkest hours alone.
1 in 4 of us have had suicidal thoughts and, every ten seconds, Samaritans answer a call for help. Samaritans is the charity that prevents suicide through the power of human connection. Connecting people in crisis with trained volunteers who will always listen; 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. Listening without judgement.
You can either sign up take part in the walk for free whilst raising some funds through our webpage or, if you're not able to join us, you can sponsor one of our volunteers in the same way. This will raise money for the Basingstoke Branch whilst raising awareness locally of our life saving work. Your donation will help someone with suicidal thoughts get help when they need it most. Just £10 could ensure a Samaritan is there to answer a life-saving call for help.
Perhaps you have a walking group who could come along and support us?
