Jill has taken up the role to help generate the funding required to keep the service going day-to-day. She's is certainly keen to get going and has lots of ideas.
She said: "There are already many amazing local events being organised over the course of this year, with a lot more ideas and plans that we would love to implement going forward, from one off events, corporate sponsorships, sponsoring the branch for a day and all those little ideas that keep a regular source of income trickling in.
"Every single penny counts no matter how it's raised so absolutely no idea is too big or too small to be discussed!
"Basingstoke is such a fantastic and generous community and I look forward to working closely with different events, groups and organisations. Basingstoke Samaritans is operated by the kindest, caring and most helpful people and to be able to support the financial efforts to keep the branch open is an opportunity I could not resist. I really cannot wait to see what we can come up with together to make sure we always have a home to provide for our callers - and for each other."
